WELCOME
I’m Sharna
I wear many labels — Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Sports Nutritionist, Yoga Teacher, Health Coach, mother, daughter, and friend. But most importantly, I am human.
Like you, I have lived through many human experiences that have shaped not only who I am, but also the work I do through Calma Health.
What truly makes up the essence of a person, a business and a service isn’t just qualifications; It’s the lived experience, the lessons, and the application of knowledge over time.
I know what it feels like to:
Struggle with physical and emotional pain, injuries and setbacks.
Hold the weight of responsibilities for others.
Feel overwhelmed, disconnected, fatigued, and stuck.
Be caught in cycles of self-judgment, self-criticism, and confusion about health choices.
If this sounds familiar — let me say this clearly: you are not broken.
You have simply not been shown a simple, sustainable way to shift the habits that are keeping you stuck.
That’s why I created Calma Health; to teach others a simple path back to themselves.
MY JOURNEY
With over 25 years in the health, fitness and rehabilitation space, my expertise has been built on both professional training and personal lived experience.
My path in health and movement began at just 16, teaching aerobics classes. From there, I went on to dance (tap and jazz), compete as a runner, fall in love with yoga, and embrace strength training — even stepping into the world of competitive body building both nationally and internationally. The common thread being my constant love of movement.
I studied a Bachelor of Human Movement Science (Exercise Science) in 2004, followed by years of solo travel that opened my eyes to how different cultures live with vitality and longevity. Living abroad and caring for people with dementia in England deeply impressed on me one truth: Health is everything. Without it, life loses its quality.
Later, I completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation, gaining experience across hospitals, rehabilitation units, and clinical practices before officially founding Calma Health in 2010 — all while raising my newborn son.
WHY CALMA HEALTH EXISTS
Calma Health was born from the belief that true wellbeing is not just physical strength, but a balance of body, mind, & spirit.
My mission is simple: to help as many people as possible become the best version of themselves — no matter where they’re starting from.
I believe that with the right movement, the right nutrition, the right mindset, and the right support, lasting transformation is possible for anyone.
Through Calma Health, I guide you to:
Build strength and mobility for long-term vitality, through movement programming.
Create simple, sustainable nutrition habits.
Find calm in the nervous system through breath, stillness, and yoga practices.
Reconnect with your true self so you can live fully, with intention, energy and purpose.
A FINAL NOTE
You don’t need another quick-fix. You need a foundation that feels supportive, empowering, and aligned with the life you want to live.
At Calma Health, you’ll find a space where strength meets softness, science meets soul, and where you are fully supported to come home to yourself.
